The Detroit Tigers took a commanding 2-0 lead in the ALCS with their 3-0 win over the New York Yankees on Sunday.

Tigers starter Anibal Sanchez threw seven scoreless innings, before Phil Coke picked up the two-inning save to close out the victory.

Hiroki Kuroda held the Tigers offense to no runs prior to Delmon Young's one-run single in the seventh inning. From there, Avisail Garcia and Miguel Cabrera were able to tack on RBI singles of their own, giving the Tigers the decisive margin.

Counting the Yankees out is never a wise idea, but Tuesday's Game 3 is incredibly important.

Detroit will send its ace Justin Verlander to the mound in Comerica Park, while New York will turn to Phil Hughes in its moment of need.

Catch Game 3's action on TBS, Tuesday night at 8 p.m. ET.
