The Detroit Lions showed some serious fortitude beating the Philadelphia Eagles in overtime by a score of 26-23.
Matthew Stafford struggled throughout the game against the Eagles' vaunted secondary, completing just 22-of-45 passes (under 50 percent), but he threw for 311 yards with one touchdown and one interception. He also ran one in from the Eagles' 1-yard line for a touchdown.
Calvin Johnson was shut out for most of the game, but he erupted in the fourth quarter and in overtime to total six catches for 135 yards.
Michael Vick's struggles this season continued against the Lions, as he threw two interceptions on the game and fumbled the ball one time.
Jeremy Maclin had a huge game, catching six passes for 130 yards and one touchdown in defeat.
Defensive end Cliff Avril showed up for the Lions in a big way, sacking Michael Vick twice in this game. Vick was hammered all game long by various Lions defenders, and he was hit 11 times throughout this contest.
The Eagles fell to 3-3 on the season and will take the next week off on their bye, while the Lions improved to 2-3 and will travel to face the Chicago Bears in Week 7 on Monday Night Football.
