Down goes Geno.

The Heisman front-runner finally showed a bit of weakness, although more than 270 yards passing and one touchdown would make a fantastic bad day for most. Still, West Virginia’s loss opens up the Heisman race a little bit, and the gap between Geno Smith and the rest of the field has shrunk.

As for the rest of the Heisman hopefuls, it’s shaping up to be a very interesting end of the season. Could a defensive player be in the mix? Will a young player get an invite, or will age get in the way?

These classic Heisman questions could surface soon enough if these power rankings hold true.
