WWE 13: Superstar Ratings Proves John Cena Is Still Dominant Presence

Whether you chant "Let's go Cena" or "Cena sucks," it is clear who carries the WWE flag. That point was proven yet again on Friday when the superstar ratings were revealed for the upcoming WWE 13 video game.

The game is due to be released on October 30, but THQ has been revealing bits and pieces of information for over a month. The latest detail designed to increase anticipation is the official overall ratings for each Superstar and Diva.

The current version of John Cena is tops among all characters on the roster with a 96 overall rating. There is also a version of Cena before he became the golden boy of the WWE. Anybody remember Thuganomics Cena?

During or around the Attitude Era, Cena rocked jerseys and a chain to the ring as a means to gain street credibility for his gimmick. Obviously it worked to some degree as he has evolved into the businesses' biggest star.

Thuganomics Cena or "Cena '04" is rated a very respectable 91 overall. Cena isn't the only Superstar with more than one version of himself in the game. At first I frowned upon the idea of doubling—and in some cases tripling up on one Superstar. However, after taking a look at the varied attires and ratings for Superstars like Triple H, I was more receptive to the concept.

There are three different versions of Triple H in the game. All three have different ratings and drastic to slightly different attires. It's not quite as good as having a completely different Superstar, but there is some appeal to the alternate versions.

One noteworthy rating is that of Bret Hart. The Canadian legend did receive a very high 94 overall rating, but it is one point lower than CM Punk, Shawn Michaels and Stone Cold Steve Austin. Purists may have a serious issue with that considering how respected the Hitman is in pure wrestling circles.

He really should have been rated a 95 with those other legends. The same could be said for the Rock. He was lowballed with a 94 overall for the Attitude Era Rock, and a 93 for the current version. As a major fan, I am preparing my petition for the ratings committee right now.

The cool things is that you can customize so much in the game, you can really build your own universe. If you disagree with something, you can recreate it and make it right according to your tastes.
