10 Epic Fighter Entrances

Nate Lawson@NateLawsonCorrespondent IMarch 10, 2009

The entrance music for a fighter before he enters the octagon shows a lot about the kind of fighter he is and what he wants people to feel when he steps up to fight.

So why not create a list of the top 10 entrance songs and the respective fighters who have those songs as a soundtrack to their long walk up to the Octagon.

10. Dan Hardy - "England Belongs to Me" by Cock Sparrer

When this was played at UFC 95 in England, the fans went crazy, as they should have. For the venue, this song made for quite the entrance.

9. Gray Maynard - "2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted" by 2pac ft. Snoop Dogg

If you watched UFC 96, you saw him fight. Gray Maynard basically destroyed Jim Miller. Although this song was edited for the fans, it still gave you the feeling that Maynard was ready to keep that undefeated record.

8. Junie Browning - "Without Me" by Eminem

An interesting character in the UFC. Although he may be hated by many, this song is perfect for him.

7. Nate Diaz - "Till I Collapse" by Eminem

Do not disagree until you have heard this song because it belongs in the UFC. It is an amazing workout song. Hell, even Michael Phelps listened to it before he raced in the Olympics.

6. Matt Hughes - "A Country Boy Can Survive" by Hank Williams Jr.

Who says there is no place for country in the UFC? Representing Blue Collar Americans everywhere, Matt Hughes' entrance really brings out the cowboy in all of us.

5. Shane Carwin - "Bodies" by Drowning Pool

An intense song for an intense heavyweight. This song goes right along with what seems to be Carwin's motto, "Let the bodies hit the floor".

4. Quinton Jackson - "Can't Be Touched" by Roy Jones Jr.

An intimidating "Rampage" Jackson deserves an equally intimidating song that basically says there is nothing you can do to stop me from knocking you out. And...he usually does just that.

3. Tito Ortiz - "Mosh" by Eminem

If you ever watched Tito Ortiz enter to this song, you know why I am calling it epic. Plain and Simple.

2. Forrest Griffin - "I'm Shipping Up to Boston" by Dropkick Murphys

This is a good song to show your heritage, or just a great song to get pumped up for a fight. Either way it sure worked for Griffin against "Rampage" Jackson.

1. Chuck Liddell -  "Intro" by DMX

A terrifying intro to DMX's "It's Dark and Hell is Hot", it is made even more terrifying when the "Iceman" is being introduced with it playing loudly in the always packed arena. Oh yes, you can feel that chill down your spine.

Keep in mind, this is not a list of top ten fighters. It helped to make this list if the fighter is good. However, the song is the more deciding factor.
