The winter transfer window may be two and a half months away, but that doesn't mean that Tottenham's not gearing up to once again improve their roster.
Herrmann, who's featured for the Bundesliga side since 2010 and has represented the German national team at every youth level, was considered to be a slam-dunk signing for Italian giants Inter Milan. But Villas-Boas and chairman Daniel Levy had other plans.
The Sun goes on to say that Herrmann is reportedly rated with a £7.5 million price tag by Borussia Monchengladbach.
There's not a lot of things Herrmann can't do, at least offensively. He's got an incredible long shot, he's quick up the middle on the counterattack and his headers are pinpoint.
Herrmann's best position and tactics are similar to that of Clint Dempsey, but if Tottenham's to make a run for next season's Champions League, they'll need more firepower at the top of the key—especially in the spring.
