It took 13 innings Thursday night, but the Baltimore Orioles made sure that every divisional series of 2012 would go the full five games by knocking off the New York Yankees, 2-1.

J.J. Hardy delivered a clutch one-out double off reliever David Phelps to score Manny Machado for the winning run. It marked the first time someone had crossed the plate since the Yankees tied the game in the sixth inning.

Joe Saunders wasn't overly effective (5.2 innings, one run, three hits, four walks), but he left the game for Baltimore's bullpen in a good position. The bullpen did its job and then some, going 7.1 scoreless innings, giving up just four hits and a walk.

Pedro Strop got the win in this pitcher's duel while Jim Johnson once again came in for the steady save.

The crucial Game 5 will be Friday at 5:00 p.m. ET.
