It's ALL about Boxing on HBO come April 11th, 2009.
HBO in honor of one of the greatest boxing matches of all time, the Thrilla in Manila, will show a special on this legendary fight of two of the greatest heavyweight champion icons of the sport in their historical rubber match. Muhammad the "GREATEST" Ali VS Joe "Smokin" Fraizer III went down in history as one of the top 5 sporting events of all time according to ESPN.
HBO will also be airing the live fight between fast rising star Paul the "Punisher" Williams VS the former top pound for pound defense guru Ronald "Winky" Wright.
Then HBO's award winning HBO 24/7 Series returns to document and jump start the countdown and daily lives of Ricky the "Hit Man" Hatton VS the number one pound for pound fighter in the world Manny "Pac Man" Pacquiao for their up coming super mega fight going down May 2nd, 2009 in Las Vegas, Nevada at the MGM Grand.
HBO is finally back on the right track to honoring and covering the sport that made HBO what it is today.
As one of my collegue's pointed out to me that he pay's the $20 a month charge for his monthly HBO cable bill just for the love of his favorite sport, boxing and he feels this year is the first year in a long time that he has not mind paying that monthly charge so far.
Let's hope that HBO continues to give us the true fight fans what we want and pay for.
