Oakland A's Spring Training: Images of the Week

Claire ReclosadoSenior Analyst IMarch 9, 2009
With 11 spring training games completed, the Oakland A’s stand in the middle of the pack in the Cactus League. The A’s 6-5 league record doesn’t quite reflect the pursuit of postseason play that seems to have taken shape in the winter months.
But, this is spring training. Pitchers are just warming up, hitters are finding their swings, and borderline players are trying to fight their way onto the roster.  It’s safe to say, what happens in Arizona stays in Arizona—hopefully.
In this past week, the A’s have gone 5-2 (three wins and one loss with a split squad), scoring in the double-digits in two of those wins.
This week has also brought:
  • Nomar Garciaparra and Orlando Cabrera are introduced as new members of the Oakland A’s
  • Jason Giambi being hit by pitches three times in one game
  • A strong outing from Brett Anderson
  • Another delay for the return of Eric Chavez
