When it comes to the Heisman Trophy, maybe we should broaden our horizons.
South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney and Notre Dame linebacker Manti Te'o both have established themselves as two of the elite defensive players in the country. Since the Heisman is supposed to go to the most outstanding player in the country, they shouldn't be written off without serious consideration.
