The Nittany Lions will keep the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week honors on the team for at least one more week. Linebacker Gerald Hodges was named the Big Ten’s Defensive Player of the Week after his 11-tackle performance Saturday against Northwestern. The game was his second 10-plus tackle performance this season and the sixth 10-plus tackle game of his career. Hodges had 1.5 tackles for a loss and was a large reason why the Penn State defense kept Northwestern’s high powered offense to season lows in total yards (247), first downs (14) and rushing yards (112).
