As the NBA trade deadline has come and passed the biggest trade in the league had happened nearly five months ago. Billups in exchange for Allen Iverson, clearly the Nuggets have benefited the most from that trade.
But there were no big trades or even news made on the NBA trade deadline day, but the NBA Champs did do some transactions of their own by acquiring highly talents but highly questionable guard Stephon Marbury.
As the Celtics acquiring Marbury rumors were lurking a few weeks ago, for the most part, all I could hear on the major sports news stations were that the Celtics were making a terrible move.
I say why so? I believe that this is a low risk trade with a high value outcome. Reporters and analyst analysts were saying how Marbury can possibly come in and ruin the teams chemistry but how could you even see that happening? Does anyone really believe that big KG or Paul will let Stephon ruin their team's chemistry? No.
The Celtics added something that they had been missing all season long, some scoring off the bench.
The Celtics have put themselves in the best situation to win the Finals, again, out of all of the other NBA teams. I can't think of any team that can say they have a career 20 PPG player coming over their bench, with the likes of already having the Big Three.
I truly believe that the Celtics will win the NBA Finals only if they make it through the biggest challenge of them all, not slumping.
