Two NFL teams with a lot to prove face off this weekend as the Kansas City Chiefs take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The Chiefs (1-4) sit at the bottom of the AFC West after many picked them to be possible playoff contenders this season. While there have been many disappointments in 2012 for the Chiefs, nothing compares to the play of quarterback Matt Cassel.
The Chiefs only needed Cassel to be average, and he has fallen fall short of even that lowly standard. As much as Romeo Crennel and Scott Pioli deserve blame for this season's failings, Cassel gets the lion's share.
The Bucs (1-3) are coming off a a bye week and new head coach, Greg Schiano, needs to have his team prepared to do more than attack the victory formation. The argument could be made that their pre-bye schedule (Carolina, New York Giants, Dallas, Washington) prepared them for anything the rest of the year could throw at them, but if they have any hopes of making a run at the playoffs, they'll need to rolling quickly.
