Five thoughts on Texas’ 48-45 loss to West Virginia on Saturday:

1. Texas needs Jordan Hicks. As good as Alex Okafor, Kenny Vaccaro and Jackson Jeffcoat are, Hicks (hip injury) was maybe the one defensive player Texas could not afford to lose. The young and inexperience of the linebackers are being exploited in the run game, first by Oklahoma State and now by West Virginia.
