If you’re a world football fan looking for the best game of Saturday’s jam-packed schedule, look no further than the ferocious battle between bitter rivals West Ham United and Arsenal FC.

With so much history behind this rivalry and the recent success of both sides this year, the battle Saturday will be the ultimate culmination of what makes the EPL so great.

It may still be very early in the season, but the implications this matchup has on the EPL table will have both sides fighting with a bit more intensity than before.

With so much on the line, this is bound to be the match of the week. Don’t miss it!

When: October 6 at 12:30 p.m. ET

Where: Upton Park, England

Watch: BBC

Live Stream: ESPN UK

Arsenal’s Player to Watch: Gervinho

While there is no doubt that Arsenal has the more talented side for Saturday’s matchup, that doesn’t always translate to a win in the EPL.

If the Gunners want a victory against tough foe West Ham, they will need the play of Gervinho to continue to be dominant.

The young star must step up and be the player that leads Arsenal offensively Saturday.

Wherever the team decides to play him—center forward or on the right side—the Gunners need their offensive weapon to step up and win this game.

With three goals in five games so far this season, watch for Gervinho to carry the load against West Ham.

West Ham’s Player to Watch: Andy Carroll

After being  loaned from Liverpool to West Ham earlier this season, star forward Andy Carroll will be the biggest offensive player on the pitch for the Hammers Saturday. Even if he comes off the bench.

With two assists in his premiere with the squad, West Ham will be looking more of the same from its big-name acquisition.

This time, though, the Hammers need goals from Carroll.

West Ham brought Carroll in with the intention of making the veteran the centerpiece of its offensive schemes, but the side needs more production from its newly acquired star.

Prediction: Arsenal 3, West Ham 1

This rivalry is one of the best in the history of the EPL, and the fact that West Ham United have faced Arsenal 125 times over their storied rivalry shows the familiarity between the clubs.

While Arsenal leads the better overall record, history doesn’t play into this result. On Saturday, the Gunners will just have the better team and steal the win.

There is little doubt that West Ham is on the right track back to being a serious contender for a league championship, but it will come up short against the tougher Arsenal side.

This game will be too great to miss!
