UFC on FX 5 Results: What We Learned from Travis Browne vs. Antonio Silva

For those who doubted Antonio "Big Foot" Silva in UFC on FX's main event, doubt no more. The Brazilian ended the fight with a technical knockout of Travis Browne.

It must be noted that before the fight was ended, it appeared that Travis Browne injured his knee. It was visible during and after the fight, so hopefully it is nothing serious.

What we'll remember from this fight

Antonio Silva jumping on top of the cage is easily the most memorable thing. I was afraid that the wall he jumped on would cave in and sink into oblivion. Luckily, that was not the case for the over-sized Brazilian monster.

What we learned about Silva

He should not have been the underdog in this fight. His last two losses were against Daniel Cormier and Cain Velasquez, both of which are championship material. He is extremely powerful and can end any fight in an instant.

What we learned about Browne

He is a very tough guy. He fought through that knee injury he appeared to suffer and didn't give up. He is a quick guy for his size and showed he wasn't afraid to throw knees and wheel kicks in the fight. He will come back stronger.

What's next for Silva

He didn't appear to suffer any damage, so a late replacement bout against Daniel Cormier wouldn't be the worst idea ever. If he stays in the UFC, stepping in late to fight Gabriel Gonzaga would be huge next weekend. Since that likely isn't possible, Fabricio Werdum has not been scheduled to fight and Silva could be the guy he faces.

What's next for Browne

This was the first defeat of Browne's career, but I think the knee tweak ended up burning him. He doesn't fall far from here, so I think a meeting with Ben Rothwell would work, as they were supposed to fight recently before Rothwell got injured.
