After one day of action at the 2012 Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open, there are some interesting names atop the leaderboard at TPC Summerlin in Las Vegas.
World No. 44 Ryan Moore is the leader through Round 1, scoring a 10-under par 61 on the back of nine birdies and an eagle. That included some outstanding driving accuracy (71.4 percent), greens in regulation percentage (88.9) and putting (1.4 putts per GIR), via ESPN.
You may also recognize the names of Rookie of the Year candidate John Huh (eight-under par), world No. 21 Nick Watney (five-under par) and world No. 41 Robert Garrigus (five-under par).
But watch out for rookie Jonas Blixt, who had the shot of the day.

Rookie Jonas Blixt, who sits tied for fifth place at seven-under par, had the best shot of the day when he knocked in a putt at nearly 60 feet.
A eagle on the No. 15 hole at TPC Summerlin allowed Ryan Moore to distance himself in Day 1.
John Huh, the only rookie to qualify for the TOUR Championship, finished the day off strong with a birdie on the 18th.
Justin Timberlake's mojo must have propelled Nick Watney to five-under par on Thursday. It's the only logical explanation:

Ryan Moore's sponsor, TRUE linkswear, was clearly happy about the 29-year-old's performance on Thursday:

JT Shriners Hospital Open Ryan Moore didn't know shot course record. Leads with 61. Told himself: Just keep it in play! soundcloud.com/dctucker-1/rya…— Danielle Tucker (@TheGolfClub) October 4, 2012
