What a tool!

Losing 2-1 at home against NAC Breda in the cup last week cost AZ Alkmaar more than just the result. Unable to control his frustration at seeing the domestic double slip through his fingers, Argentine keeper Sergio Romero was caught on camera smacking the wall on his way back to the dressing room, with reports later revealing that his rash behaviour had left the custodian with a broken hand.

Romero is now set to miss the next six weeks of competition as the league leaders look to hold onto their nine-point lead in the Eredivisie with just nine matches remaining.

Coach Louis van Gaal commented, “That is his Argentine temperament. It wasn’t smart of Sergio to vent his frustrations like this. I think his season is over.”

Sergio Romero’s act of stupidity can be seen here.
