Texas A&M Position Battles: A Look Ahead at the 2009-2010 Season

Well, after a bad season, A&M is heading into spring with questions at many positions. These are just a few.


QB: Possible Choices

Jerrod Johnson: A dual-threat QB who can make things happen, but is not the QB Mike Sherman likes.

Ryan Tannerhill: A dual-threat QB who is about the same as Jerrod, but a good year at WR will hold him back.

Tommy Dorman: Strong arm; a true pocket passer. Not proven he can lead team.

Winner: Jerrod Johnson, but Dorman could take over sometime in season.


Running Back

Cyrus Gray: Had carries last season and a mix of hard working and speed. Not saying he is, but he reminds me of Emmitt Smith.

Bradley Stephens: All-time Texas career rushing leader can possibly show some promise as he wants the ball this season. The rushing record, however, was down in a part of Texas not known for D-I talent.

Christine Michael: The jewel of the 2009 recruiting has the speed and is a very impressive back.

Winner: None—Cyrus and Michael split time.
