Post-game thoughts
-The better team won tonight.
-West Virginia will immediately challenge for the Big 12 title in its first season in the conference. The Mountaineers have a great offense behind them, and it is enough to carry against their schedule.
-Geno Smith is, without a doubt, the Heisman front-runner.
-Texas played a tough defensive matchup, but its back seven has some real problems.
-The front four, however, played great against an offense that can really move the ball around.
-Andrew Buie is a player.
-The Longhorns' offense did not really feel like it took off tonight. Apart from pounding the ball up the middle, a strategy that did pay dividends, Texas was not close to the same unit it was last weekend.
-The Horns shot themselves in the foot with the bad snap leading to the missed field goal. Beside the fact that it cost them a chance at seven points, it left them with no points. That series really sapped the gusto out of Texas.
-Credit the Longhorns for not laying down and scoring that late touchdown. Very encouraging.
-West Virginia went 5-for-5 on fourth down.
-Geno Smith still has no interceptions this season.
-David Ash probably played as well as he could have played. Texas did not take many shots deep, which has to make you scratch your head given the events against West Virginia last weekend.
We are final in Austin!

After the last few weeks, my Heisman ballot might be: 1. Geno Smith 2. Tavon Austin 3. Andrew Buie

West Virginia is very much the real deal folks. That non-existent running game that it supposedly did not have has showed up the Texas defense in a big way.

Andrew Buie has punched so many holes in this Texas defense.
Texas cannot stop the run.

That was nails from Geno Smith to find Stedman Bailey, who made no easy catch.
West Virginia is very fortunate to be in this position, and the feeling is that the Mountaineers will capitalize with a running game that has been very successful all night.
That bad snap could very well be the finisher for Texas.
Strange that Texas has not run many jet and speed sweeps.
What a huge letdown for the Longhorns after a huge steal in momentum with the fumble recovery.
41-yard field goal attempt: No good for Texas
The turnover leaves nothing for the Longhorns, as a bad snap puts Texas on the poor side of the score.

Talk about a timely play defensively. Wow.
Senior DE Alex Okafor forced his second fumble of the night, and Chris Whaley bursts upfield for the recovery.
Fumble recovered by Texas
West Virginia will have a chance to really kill some clock. Texas has to find that pressure that it applied in the first half.
Texas turns it over on downs.
The Horns are no 1-of-3 on fourth down. The Mountaineers are 5-of-5.
Johnathan Gray may be a standout running the ball, but his pass blocking leaves something to be desired. That sack was a drive-killer.

Jaxon Shipley is starting to get some touches, but where is Mike Davis?
Defense to the test.
RT @danweiner: Texas just gave up 6 yards on a play where there was NO shot WVU was going to throw.

It is starting to get chippy out there.

What a throw from Geno Smith to Stedman Bailey. Ice cold.

How interesting would that have been if something weird happened on the one play where Geno Smith had to sit on the sidelines.
