The WWE 13 downloadable content has an excellent balance of current and retro appeal. It blends a taste of the Attitude Era with some of the up and coming superstars that had yet to be announced.

The content isn't restricted to superstars, though. There is also a Championships pack that offers an attractive set of titles that are currently out of circulation. This franchise is all about options, and the scheduled DLC proves that.

From release day on October 30 to January of 2013, the content rollout will be impressive. Here is the WWE 13 Fan Axxess trailer revealing some of the information about the scheduled DLC:

Per THQ, the schedule and prices will be as follows:

Content Group #1: "Attitude Era" Superstars Pack – October 30, 2012

Available individually for 80 Microsoft Points for Xbox 360 or $0.99 USD via PlayStation Network.

  • Rikishi
  • Scotty 2 Hotty
  • Grand Master Sexay
  • Gangrel
  • Val Venis

Available for 160 Microsoft Points for Xbox 360 or $1.99 USD via PlayStation Network.

Accelerator Boost - enabling players to unlock all in-game items as well as customize individual WWE Superstar attributes.

The highlight of this first group is clearly Rikishi. The originator of the Stink Face had size and surprising athleticism. I thought he was better before he joined with Too Cool, but I guess he was the pre-cursor into Brodus Clay's Funkasaurus gimmick.

This is a decent start for the bonus content.

The following are the details of the second group of DLC:

Content Group #2: WWE Superstars Pack – December 2012

Available free of charge: Undertaker "Ministry of Darkness" alternate attire.

Available individually for 80 Microsoft Points for Xbox 360 or $0.99 USD via PlayStation Network:

  • Tensai
  • Ryback
  • Drew McIntyre
  • Yoshi Tatsu
  • AJ Lee
  • Natalya

Championship Title Pack, with 10 new championships from WWE, WCW, ECW and AWA.

Available for 160 Microsoft Points for Xbox 360 or $1.99 USD via PlayStation Network.

  • WWE John Cena United States Championship (Word Life)
  • WCW Cruiserweight Championship
  • WCW World Tag Team Championship
  • WCW Hardcore Championship
  • WCW n.W.o. World Heavyweight Championship
  • WCW United States Championship
  • ECW Classic World Heavyweight Championship
  • ECW World Television Championship
  • ECW World Tag Team Championship
  • AWA Classic World Heavyweight Championship

This is the pack I'm most looking forward to. Ryback is a must, and you can bet impatient gamers will be creating him from October 30 up until this DLC is released. He was one of the most created and downloaded superstars on WWE 12's community creations. Now he'll officially be a part of the roster.

I'm also excited about the new championship belts. It will be cool to plan creative ways to incorporate these titles in my WWE Universe modes.

Here are the details to the third content group:

Content Group #3: You're Welcome in Five Languages Pack – January 2013

Available free of charge: Layla.

Available individually for 80 Microsoft Points for Xbox 360 or $0.99 USD via PlayStation Network:

  • Jimmy Uso
  • Jey Uso

  • Triangle Dropkick
  • The Hart Lock
  • Top Rope Super German Suplex
  • Superkick/Pedigree Combo
  • Delayed Vertical Suplex Powerslam
  • Omega Driver
  • Airplane Spin
  • Top Rope Brainbuster
  • Flapjack/Cutter Combo

I love Sandow and Cesaro, but the extra moves are the biggest draw here. Any WWE gamer that loves creating wrestlers has to love the additional moves.

Which pack do you like the most?

This is like buying an artist more paint, or a variety of canvases. These additions can prompt you to recreate more legends, or completely original characters.

Finally, there is the Fan Axxess program. This allows you to get all of the aforementioned content for a one-time cost of 1600 Microsoft Points for Xbox 360 or $19.99 USD via PlayStation Network.

That shaves off 10 percent of what it would cost you to buy each pack separately. In addition to the savings, you also receive: an online badge, Diamond Dallas Page and Goldust as playable characters.

This is a verbose set of DLC options, and there is seemingly something for everyone here. I can honestly say the only major omission at this point is Kurt Angle. That said, there is more than enough here to satisfy most WWE gamers.
