Illinois State (22-8) against Northern Iowa (20-10)

Line: Illinois State -2

Illinois State just shredded Creighton on Saturday for a 73-49 victory and a spot in the Missouri Valley Conference finals. The Redbirds launched a three-point barrage, led by Champ Oguchi who was six out of eight, and Osiris Eldridge, who was four out of five. In the end, Illinois State finished 13 out of 19 from three-point distance and 54.9 percent overall from the floor.

Creighton was held to 27.4 percent shooting, and Booker Woodfox (13 points) was the only Blue Jay to reach double figures in scoring.

Northern Iowa defeated Bradley 76-62 on Saturday to reach the conference finals. The Panthers shot 50 percent from the field and made it to the free throw line 30 times. Adam Koch led the way for Northern Iowa with 22 points and nine boards.

The Creighton game was a very impressive win by the Redbirds, and I’m sure that influenced this line. Creighton defeated Illinois State just a week ago, so I’ll discount the blowout as a team on fire for a day. Northern Iowa steamrolled through this conference before hitting a rough stretch when their lead got too big. The Panthers have since recovered and have a four-game winning streak.

Dave’s Pick: Northern Iowa outright
