Big Ten fans have a lot to be excited about this week, for there are some highlight matchups to look out for.
In Week 6 of the college football season, we have six inter-conference battles within the Big Ten that may have lasting implications down the line.
Braxton Miller vs. Taylor Martinez. How about Montee Ball vs. the Illinois defense? Expect great things this weekend.
Without further ado, I present three Big Ten matchups to watch out for this Saturday.
This Michigan offense lives and dies with Denard Robinson. They just don't look the same when he plays poorly.
On the other hand, Purdue will look to attack a Michigan offensive line that is still gelling. Look for Kawann Short and the other Purdue defensive linemen to make a difference in this game.
This will be a telling sign for both teams. If Purdue can upset Michigan, this would be a huge win for a team many expect to contend for the leaders division title.
However, I think Denard Robinson limits his turnovers and helps Michigan State win a close one in West Lafayette.
Prediction: Michigan 23 Purdue 20
The key to this game? The Illinois defense slowing down Montee Ball.
Both teams lost in their opening Big Ten matchup, and will look to this game to right the ship.
Illinois in particular will look to stop their two-game losing streak after consecutive losses to both Penn State and Louisiana Tech.
Wisconsin on the other hand will look to recover after a heartbreaking defeat to Nebraska last week. The Badgers were up 27-10 in the early stages of the third quarter before Nebraska came back to win.
Ball had great success against Illinois last season, and the Badgers will look to him early and often this Saturday.
Look For Ball to dominate on the ground.
Prediction: Wisconsin 31 Illinois 19
Taylor Martinez vs. Braxton Miller? Two dual-threat quarterbacks will have their chance to shine in this huge Big Ten matchup.
More importantly though, will be the impact of Rex Burkhead and Ameer Abdullah on the ground. If this duo plays well, Ohio State could be in trouble.
However, Ohio State is coming off a huge win against Michigan State. They absolutely dominated a great Michigan State backfield.
They will have to do the same against a tough duo in Abdullah and Burkhead.
Prediction: Ohio State 27 Nebraska 21
