Hello and welcome.
With the NFL Draft not so far away, and everyone is frantically trying to figure out who every team is going to pick, coming up with all kinds of mock drafts.
I have came up with the top flops at the QB position.
I'm no NFL expert or anything, and this may not really be the top 10, but it's my top 10.
The undrafted younger brother of former NFL star Quarterback Micheal Vick.
Marcus also played at Virgina Tech and tried to follow his brother's footsteps; however, unlike Michael, he went undrafted in his draft year, 2006.
A good part of the reason why no one would touch the guy is because of his off-field issues—getting in trouble at a McDonald's with a gun or something(must be a Vick Thing).
Vick was signed to the Dolphins' practice squad, playing in the preseason as a WR/QB with little success. He has been unheard of since.
Leak lead the Gators to their first championship since Danny Wurfull did so in 1996.
Leak was drafted by the Bears, and after being released by the team, he tried out for the Chiefs, which also didnt work out.
Leak also played in the AAFL and CFL, with also no success.
Weinke is one of two QBs ever to get their number retired at Flordia State.
He won a National Title and the Heisman Trophy at FSU
He was drafted in the fourth round and was the starter for the Panthers in 2001.
He would win his first game before losing the next 15 in a row.
He was replaced.
In 2007, he tried to resurface as a San Fransisco 49er, but that didn't last.
Leaf was drafted in 1998—over Peyton Manning—by the San Diego Chargers.
There's a reason every 15-year-old kid can recite every commercial Manning is in, while not knowing who Ryan Leaf is—the guy was the flop of the century, especially when seeing who he was picked over.
Danny Wuerffel won the 1996 Heisman Trophy with the Florida Gators.
He ended up playing for the Sanits, Packers, Bears, and Redskins—dreadfully, I might add.
Shuler was a Tennessee QB who finished second in Heisman voting.
He was drafted No. 1 to the Washington Redskins, and did, you guessed it, nothing
He was traded to the Saints after an injury and then was traded again to the Raiders before retiring to be a US Congressman.
This Fresno State QB was also drafted No. 1 to the Texans. Plagued by injures, he was traded to the Panthers, then cut, he ended up as Eli Manning's third-string backup.
Carr is best known as a talking dummy.
Smith played for the University of Utah, finishing fourth in Heisman voting in 2004, the same year he would be named the Mountain West Conference Player of the Year.
Smith was the first overall pick in the 2005 NFL Draft, selected by the San Francisco 49ers. In July 2005, Smith agreed to a six-year, $49.5 million contract with the 49ers; the contract includes $24 million in guaranteed money.
Maybe two flops pictured here.
What did Vick accomplish for the Atlanta Falcons? Average TD-INT ratio (71-52), average quarterback rating (75.7), oh, and he destroyed the franchise.
In the six seasons Vick was the Falcons' starting quarterback, the team had two winning seasons and collapsed after he left. There is no top-flight draft pick so responsible for wrecking havoc on a franchise more than Vick, as he did when he was finally put in jail for illegal dog fighting.
