I know the season isn't over yet, and crazier things have happened but lets face it the season is over. The season wasn't a complete failure there were some major improvements made in certain players game.
Let's start with the development of the younger players: Javier Gonzalez and Tracy Smith
Javier Gonzalez plays point guard and was a turnover machine. He had seven turnovers in a loss to Davidson with four assists. Now his wasn't his worst game but a pretty bad one. No he wasn't the only one with lots of turnovers but he is the point guard.
With the assistance of Monte Towe and Sidney Lowe some of the best point guards in college basketball history he as matured in a decent player with performances like scoring 10+ points in the last three out of six with season high 18 in a loss to UNC.
Tracy Smith plays forward and is a powerful force when he gets within 15 feet of the basketball. He has had good games this year like 31 against towson. I feel his best game was a upset of Wake Forest where he had 12 points and 12 rebounds. Ten of those rebounds where offensive that is an unreal stat.
Now let's talk about the cast of seniors leaving—Ben McCauley, Courtney Fells, and Simon Harris—in my next article.
