Green Bay - "It's great to be back," genuine referee Jeff Triplette said through the Lambeau Field public-address system just before the coin toss. Considering what happened to the Packers the week before in Seattle, a key talking point that brought the NFL and its officials back to the bargaining table, the crowd offered its approval. But not before long, fans were presenting an overwhelming opinion on whether the real guys were an upgrade. "Boooooooooooooo," were among the thun dering and long-lasting critiques, as well as a few R-rated terms that TV caught Mike McCarthy uttering in his appeals against the calls that gave the Packers that sinking here-we-go-again feeling. Point was, they overcame them Sunday in the 28-27 victory Sunday against the New Orleans Saints. It would be hard to overstate the fix the Packers would be in at 1-3 with their approaching schedule had they not demonstrated indisputable-call fortitude in rallying against the Bountygate-bound Saints and Drew Brees, as well as all the weirdness that went against them in their first three games.
