NFL Week 5: Arizona Cardinals at St. Louis Rams Preview and Predictions

Michael Schottey@SchotteyNFL National Lead WriterOctober 1, 2012

NFC West foes collide as the Arizona Cardinals head to St. Louis to take on the Rams in NFL Week 5.

The Cardinals have surprised just about everyone this season with their 4-0 start. Kevin Kolb looks prepared to earn the big contract Arizona handed to him and has finally worked out some chemistry with Larry Fitzgerald. He's come a long way from losing his job to John Skelton! The story of the Cardinals has to be the defense, however, and that front seven has kept everyone under wraps.

The Rams defense has also taken huge steps forward in 2012. Jeff Fisher has this team prepared week in and week out, even though their defensive coordinator (Gregg Williams) was suspended for the season due to Bountygate. On offense, Sam Bradford hasn't looked great, but it's been hard to fairly judge him behind an offensive line that hasn't been able to block anyone. He'll need to be at his best against a Cardinals defense that will be coming after him.
