Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers bounced back nicely in Week 4 against the Atlanta Falcons, but Matt Ryan was able to pull off a last-minute drive in the fourth quarter, and Matt Bryant kicked the game-winning field goal with no time remaining on the clock to win the game 30-28.
Newton was turnover-prone in the first three games of the season, but he never turned the ball over against Atlanta. He threw for 215 yards and two touchdowns and ran for another 86 yards and a touchdown.
DeAngelo Williams pitched in another touchdown, and if not for Ryan's late-game heroics, the Panthers would have won the game.
Speaking of Ryan, he passed for 369 yards and three touchdowns and threw one interception on the day.
Michael Turner had a big game, rushing for 103 yards on 13 carries.
The game ball goes to Roddy White, though, as he caught eight passes for 169 yards and two touchdowns.
Julio Jones was shut out for most of the game, catching just one pass for 30 yards.
Charles Johnson had a monster game in defeat, tallying 3.5 sacks and five total quarterback hits.
The Panthers now move to 1-3 and will host the Seattle Seahawks, while the 4-0 Falcons will travel to Washington D.C. to face Robert Griffin III and the Redskins in Week 5.
