And now comes four and a half months of uncertainty. Four and a half months of waiting, guessing and hoping. Roy Halladay’s season is over. It ended with five so-so innings and a victory – his 11th of the year in the Phillies’ 9-5 win over Miami (see Instant Replay) – on Saturday night. Now, the 35-year-old righthander, after his most difficult season in more than a decade, heads into a winter in which he hopes to rediscover the physical prowess that once made him the best pitcher in a baseball.
