By now, most of you know that The Rock will receive a WWE title shot at the Royal Rumble. That mere fact polarizes some fans.

Why should the Rock get a title shot after a few sporadic appearances and a victory over John Cena at WrestleMania? Shouldn't the WWE build a feud with their younger stars? I think yes and no.

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is a living legend in the WWE. He also is a movie star and entertainment figure. These facts are well documented and debated. The Rock should get his title shot merely due to his drawing power for the WWE. The younger stars will have their chances to shine. Allow the Rock to put eyes on the product and the younger stars will gain more notoriety.

The WWE champion is supposed to be the man that can carry the company and put eyes on the product. He is supposed to be the man that will work tirelessly every single night and day for the WWE.

Since there is no possible way the Rock will return to the ring full time, the WWE should allow him to put over the man who will carry the company.

The Rock can be the man who puts over CM Punk or John Cena at the Royal Rumble. The Rock doesn't need to get a cheap victory and meaningless title reign at the Royal Rumble. His legacy is already cemented in the WWE. The WWE did not have the Rock lose to Cena at WrestleMania, but it is conceivable in the less important Royal Rumble.

Everyone, including myself, enjoys when the Rock makes his sporadic appearances in the WWE. He brings fans to the product and also outside media attention due to his star power. I understand some of the younger fans not liking this fact, but they need to look at the big picture. The WWE needs all of the outside attention it can get. The Rock can provide that for today's WWE.

So I get the anger and annoyance but understand that most of you will tune into the Rumble and see what happens.

Relax and enjoy the ride that the Rock brings to the wrestling world. Who knows, you might just like what you see.
