Have you had the opportunity to see this guy play? If you haven't, make sure you catch the Marlins early in the season because it's quite a site. That is, if you have the keen vision to see his fastball fly by.

I have no idea how many guys can top 100 mph anymore, but Matt Lindstrom can; and its impressive. Lucky for him. His fastball has earned him a spot as the Marlins latest closer; a position that cost them vital games down the stretch last year as they attempted to make a Wild Card run.

What many people don't know about Lindstrom is he has other pitches to complement that fastball. This guy is not just someone who pumps it in there in the hope baseball's big names won't be able to catch up with it.

Last year he compiled a 3.14 ERA, went 5-of-6 in save opportunities, and pitched in 57.1 innings; striking out 43 batters.

This year Lindstrom has the job he's desired since he arrived in the majors. He's finally a closer. And I believe he's going to shock baseball. Call me crazy but this guy will be on the NL All-Star team. He's already representing the USA in the World Baseball Classic this year.

Lindstrom will convert a very high percentage of saves and get a fair amount of strikeouts in his closer role this year. Due to his low-key market value and relative anonymity in rotisserie baseball fantasy leagues, you can take a risk and try to draft him late. If you want a late round, steady saves guy, jump on Matt Lindstrom.
