Davidson is led by Stephen Curry. The 6-1 guard is the son of legendary NBA 3-point shooter Dale Curry who had a prolific 16 year NBA career. Young Stephen wanted to follow his dad’s foot steps and play at Virginia Tech.

But guess what? Seth Greenberg didn’t think he was worthy of a scholarship. Instead, he generously offered young Curry a chance to walk-on.

Well Seth, you can watch Stephen, that is Mr. Curry to you lead his puny little Wildcats to the Sweet 16!

Curry was second only to some kid at Texas (a Mr. Kevin Durant) last year in Freshman scoring. He led his team to the NCAA and the ‘Cats lost to the Terps as a 13 seed. Curry averaged 22 points per game this season.

The Wildcats are coached by Bob McKillop who is the all-time winningest coach in Southern Conference history. His veteran 2006 team lost to Ohio State after leading at the half. Despite losing seven seniors off that team, his inexperienced team made the Dance again in 2007 and played Maryland tough until the waning minutes.

This years squad lost tough road games to UNC, Duke and UCLA, but comes into the Tournament with a 22 game winning streak.

McKillop's squad should benefit from the 2006 and 2007 experience.
