Roberto Mancini's decision to bring on Edin Dzeko was a fruitful one. The Bosnian striker finished his only chance excellently. Balotelli wasn't so impressive when he came on—his only contribution amounting to shots that were well off the mark.
Fulham should be disappointed with a toothless performance. The home side were happy to sit back and ultimately got what they deserved. A missed opportunity for Jol.
Either way, City will be happy to leave London with a much-needed win.
Manchester City deserved the win today. They were unlucky to go a goal down through a soft penalty. Joe Hart had very little to do and will be disappointed to leave Craven Cottage without a clean sheet.
90+2'— Possession football from the champions. Fulham can't get anything going.
90+1'— City are comfortable here. The fans are singing Mancini's name after the substitute looks to have won the game.
90'— Three minutes of added time.
87'— Dzeko scores one minute after coming on. The ball drops to him the middle of the box, he brilliantly turns and smashes it into the top corner. Fully deserved.
87'— GOAL FOR CITY!
86'— MAN CITY SUB: Edin Dzeko comes on for Javi Garcia. City in full ATTACK mode.
85'— Balotelli whacks a free kick into the wall. He's been wasteful so far.
81'— FULHAM SUB: Karagounis comes on to make his debut, replaces Ruiz.
80'— City continue to probe. The ball drops to Balotelli once more but his shot is terrible.
77'— Nasri picks up the balls and send a cross deep into Fulham's box. Schwarzer collects calmly under pressure from Balotelli.
75'— MAN CITY SUB: Samir Nasri replaces Gareth Barry.
73'— Just as I say that Fulham amount their first real break of the second half. Kacaniklic's cross is blocked by Zabaleta's arm in a decision that could have gone either way. The ball drops to Ruiz who smashes a shot at Hart. Better from the home side.
71'— Yaya Toure is caught offside from another City attack. Fulham continue to ride this one out. It feels like a goal is coming soon.
70'— Balotelli's first real interaction is a shot from the edge of the box. His effort goes well wide.
67'— Kompany is walking a tightrope here. He fouls Rodallega once more. The City captain has already been booked...
66'— Substitutions: Balotelli on for Tevez, and Kacaniklic enters play for Petric.
65'— CHANCE! Zabaleta spins on the edge of the box and shoots over the bar. He's attacked throughout the entire game.
64'— Fulham just can't get the ball here. They've been passengers since scoring the early penalty. Jol needs to bring on some fresh legs before the game is put to bed.
59'— CLOSE! Silva wriggles away from multiple Fulham defenders. The ball is swept into the box and Aguero's header goes narrowly wide. City getting closer with each attack.
59'— Reither tackles excellently on Aguero. The Argentinian striker broke into the box with some speed there.
55'— A soft Zabaleta penalty claim is turned down. City win a free kick that is fired too high by Silva.
