AZ Alkmaar 1—NAC Breda 2 (KNVB Beker, March 5, 2009) Eredivisie leaders AZ Alkmaar crashed out of the Dutch Cup even after Moussa Dembele put AZ ahead on 13 minutes. Second half goals from Nourdin Boukhari and Anthony Lurling sealed a quarterfinal victory for NAC.

Roda Kerkade 2—FC Volendam 3 (KNVB Beker, March 5, 2009) Bakens early goal was cancelled out by goals from Yulu-Matondo and Fauw to put Roda 2-1 up. But a brace from 20-year old striker Melvin Platje won the match. (Both goals can be seen here.) The match winner, coming in the 96th minute, was a stunning volleyed finish.
