Top 5 Worst Calls from NFL Replacement Refs

Josh Zerkle@JoshZerkleChief Writer IIISeptember 26, 2012

We've seen some seriously bad calls from the NFL's replacement refs. And with the NFL and their original set of officials reportedly closing in on a new deal, it might be time to gloss over the worst calls from the first three weeks of NFL action.

We've seen serious compromises made in the quality of mediation in these games, but also a sharp decline in player safety. Players like Sean Lee, Darrius Heyward-Bey and Matt Schaub all took severe blows that violated the league's "defenseless player" protocol, which, last time I looked, were still in effect. Only Schaub's hit was flagged.

What other calls (or no-calls) or suspect referee decisions made our top five? You'll have to check out or latest video to know for sure. Join me as I run down the five worst calls made by the NFL's replacement officials, and be sure to leave any that I might have missed in the comments below.

As always, thanks for watching.
