During the 2006 World Baseball Classic, Major League scouts were able to watch foreigners dominate. This started a “foreign movement” in Major League Baseball.

Players like Daisuke Matsuzaka, Kosuke Fukudome, and Alexei Ramirez were given a shot at the majors.

Now, its 2009. The World Baseball Classic is back, and it's time to look at some potential future major league players.

Yuliesky Gourriel (Cuba) - The 24-year-old infielder, is arguably the best player in Cuba. He started on Cuba’s 2004 Olympic gold medal team, as a teenager.

Yuliesky Maya (Cuba) - Another hot Cuban prospect. The 22-year-old right-hander has a strong selection of pitches. Look for him to use his fastball, his best pitch.

Albertin Chapman (Cuba) - The 22-year-old is arguably the best pitching prospect at this year's World Baseball Classic. Chapman can hit 100 mph on the radar gun. However, his age is in question.

Hyun-Jin Ryu (Korea) - The 22-year-old right-hander was on Korea’s 2008 Olympic team. Cubs' scout Steve Wilson worked with him in Korea.

Yu Darvish (Japan) - He is thought to be the successor to Dice-K. He is only 22-years-old, but he has put up a 48-19 record with a 2.33 ERA in the Japan league. Unfortunately, he has said he is not interested in the majors, but money can change that.

Well, those are the top prospects to look for in this year's 2009. Good luck to them and everyone who is competing this year.
