Chris BrooksCorrespondent IMarch 5, 2009

Mount St. Mary's will look to repeat as Northeast Conference champions, but they will do so against a team that has run away with the season title. The Robert Morris Colonials headline the tournament that begins at 7 p.m. tonight.

All games, including the championship game, will be held at the highest seed's campus.

The No. 1 Robert Morris Colonials (21-10, 15-3 NEC) will host the No. 8 St. Francis (NY) Terriers (10-19, 7-11 NEC) at 7 p.m. at the Charles L. Sewall Center in Coraopolis, PA. The teams split the season series with both teams winning on the road.

The No. 4 Long Island Blackbirds (16-13, 12-6 NEC) will host the No. 5 Quinnipiac Bobcats (14-15, 10-8 NEC) at the Wellness, Recreation and Athletic Center in Brooklyn. The Bobcats swept the season series, and they defeated the Blackbirds on Senior Night. Will the third time be the charm for LIU?

The No. 2 Mount St. Mary's Mountaineers (17-12, 12-6 NEC) will host the No. 7 Wagner Seahawks (16-13, 8-10 NEC) at Knott Arena in Emmitsburg, MD. The season series was a split, as both teams won at their respective arenas. Wagner enters on a four-game win streak and has won six of seven, while Mount lost two of three to end the season.

The No. 3 Sacred Heart Pioneers (16-13, 12-6 NEC) will host the No. 6 Central Connecticut State Blue Devils (14-15, 10-8 NEC) at the William Pitt Center in Fairfield, CT. SH won both meetings and won big 101-67 at CCSU. It should be an easy three-peat for the Pioneers.

The semifinals will be at the highest seeds on Mar. 8, and the championship, which will be televised on ESPN2, will be at the top seed remaining at 8 p.m. The winner will get the lone bid for the NEC.
