Should the NFL Suspend Bill Belichick?

No one can blame Bill Belichick for grabbing a replacement referee after Sunday night's game. Actually, it wasn't even a grab; it was more of a tug on a passing shoulder.

Belichick's New England Patriots had just lost to the Baltimore Ravens on a field goal that NBC's cameras caught flying over the upright. In real time, the field goal looked to be wide right, but replays showed the ball went over the upright—if you're a Ravens fan. If you're a Pats fan, it was clearly wide right.

Whatever Belichick's gripe was going to be, he crossed a line when he grabbed the official. There's no question there. But it's not hard to understand why he felt the impulse to grab one of the officiating crew after yet another dismal performance by the replacement refs.

The NFL is apparently set to fine Belichick but reportedly won't go so far as to suspend the Patriots coach, according to NFL Network's Steve Wyche. This is probably the right call.

In the video above, my colleague Josh Zerkle and I discuss Belichick, the refs and what the league's punishment should be. Let us know in the comments below if you agree or disagree and what you think the NFL should do in this case.
