NFL Week 4: San Francisco 49ers at New York Jets Preview and Prediction

Aaron NaglerNFL National Lead WriterSeptember 24, 2012

If ever there was a team that feels like it lost after winning a football game, the New York Jets fit the bill.

With superstar cornerback Darrelle Revis out for the year with a torn ACL, the Jets need to regroup as a defense. It's one thing to hold Ryan Tannehill to less than 200 yards and no touchdowns. It is quite another to go up against a 49ers team that has had its pride wounded by an embarrassing loss to the Minnesota Vikings

The 49ers turned over the ball multiple times against the Vikings, something they have rarely done under head coach Jim Harbaugh. If they can get back to playing the type of ball Harbaugh preaches, they should handle a Jets team that struggled mightily against division rival Miami

For their part, the Jets look completely befuddled on offense. From Tim Tebow's use in the red zone to Mark Sanchez' terrible decision making, this group is tough to watch. I'm not sure exactly what the Jets were keeping under wraps all summer when they wouldn't show their Wildcat offense, but the slow unveiling has been a complete anticlimax.

In the video above, we break down the biggest matchups and give you a prediction for the game. Let us know in the comments below how we clearly don't watch football and all need to find new jobs. OR debate specific points with calm candor. Whatever mood you're in.
