Andy Dalton out-dueled Robert Griffin III, as the Cincinnati Bengals beat the Washington Redskins on the road in a shootout, winning by a score of 38-31.
Dalton was superb at connecting with his receivers deep, completing 19-of-27 passes for 328 yards with three touchdowns and one interception.
A.J. Green was unstoppable, and he caught nine passes for 183 yards with one touchdown; his touchdown coming on a trick play, a 73-yard bomb thrown by rookie receiver Mohamed Sanu.
BenJarvus Green-Ellis had a rough outing, rushing for only 38 yards on 17 carries and fumbling for the first time in his professional career.
RG3 had another solid outing, passing for 221 yards and one touchdown and rushing for another 85 yards and a touchdown, but he couldn't connect with his wide receivers as much during this game as he did in the team's first two games. The absence of Pierre Garcon was dramatically evident.
The 2-1 Bengals will now travel to Jacksonville to face the Jaguars in Week 4, while the 1-2 Redskins will travel to Tampa Bay to face the Buccaneers.
