Demetrious Johnson is your first-ever UFC flyweight champion after defeating Joseph Benavidez by split-decision (48-47, 47-48, 48-47) at UFC 152 in Toronto.

Benavidez did come extremely close to finishing the fight in the fourth after landing a big right hand and following it up with a guillotine choke from mount. Johnson was able to fight out of the choke, however, and controlled most of the rest of the fight.
