Rangers third baseman Adrian Beltre has been told that the likely cause for his abdominal pain is scar tissue from his appendix removal and follow-up surgery 12 years ago rubbing against his intestine.

Beltre underwent more tests Friday, and a doctor said that he is 90 percent sure of the scar-tissue theory. If the pain doesn't subside significantly or gets worse, Beltre would undergo surgery to correct the problem.
