Five games and LFC have had absolutely no luck. If it really does even itself out, they're going to have an extraordinarily fortunate run-in

And…
Welcome to sexy losing, where Liverpool fans start to morph into Arsenal fans.

FULL TIME: LIVERPOOL 1, MANCHESTER UNITED 2
There's the final whistle, and United have won. Liverpool must be gutted. Brendan Rodgers will feel like Liverpool deserved something from this match, and he'll be right.
Even after the sending off, Liverpool played the better football for large stretches. This loss pretty much sums up their season so far.
For United, it's a valuable away win. They're back in second place and it's their first win at Anfield in six visits.
All in all, United had all the breaks go their way, from the sending off to the penalty. Was the ref right about both? Either? Neither?

90+4
Chicharito has a go from long range. His low shot is saved easily by Reina.
90+3
Liverpool's Martin Kelly is receiving treatment on the pitch. He might be done for the day.
Liverpool running out of time…
90'—LIV 1, MU 2
Five minutes of stoppage time. Can Liverpool find a dramatic equalizer?

89'—SUB
Last change for United. Danny Welbeck and his 1992 hightop fade enter the match. Rafael departs.
Antonio Valencia moves to right back.
84'—YELLOW CARD
Robin van Persie earns a yellow card for a sliding challenge in the midfield.
The decision was delayed as Liverpool played their advantage. They'll have a corner after Rafael receives treatment on the pitch.

83'—CHANCE!
Glen Johnson crosses from the left, and Martin Kelly sends a glancing header just wide of the United goal.
That was a great chance…
82'—LIV 1, MU 2
So United lead now despite Liverpool controlling most of the match with 10 men. Liverpool will be gutted if they lose this one.
Meanwhile, Javier Hernandez has replaced Shinji Kagawa for United.

81'—GOAL!
Robin van Persie steps up to take the penalty…
…and scores with a high shot to his right. Pepe Reina got a touch to it, but couldn't stop it.
The kick was delayed for a few minutes while Liverpool's Daniel Agger received treatment. He was carried off by a stretcher. Looked like he was shaken up in that penalty incident.
Jamie Carragher is warming up to replace Agger.
76'—PENALTY!
Antonio Valencia wins a penalty for United after a fast counter!
It was Glen Johnson with the challenge from behind.
72'—LIV 1, MU 1
Less than 20 minutes left now, and Liverpool are still the better team despite playing the last 30-plus minutes with 10 men.
Which means we're about to see a sucker-punch United winner…right?

70'—OOH!
Suso frees Suarez in the United box with a clever through-ball.
Suarez tries to shoot or pass from a tight angle, and the ball flashes across the face of goal.
Suso and Suarez have combined very well since Suso entered the match at halftime.

Bond reference! Can't wait for the new flick…
Henderson for Sterling. Bit like Lazenby for Connery.

66'—SUB
Jordan Henderson replaces Raheem Sterling for Liverpool.
65'—SHOT!
Suarez crosses from deep on the left for Suso, whose high shot is tipped over the bar by Lindegaard.
The corner comes to nothing.
64'—LIV 1, MU 1
Long, patient build-up by United ends with Carrick's cross from the left being headed over by RvP.
What a start to the second half! The match has finally settled a bit.

61'—SAVE!
Luis Suarez cuts in from the left and unleashes a powerful, low shot from the edge of United's box.
Anders Lindegaard pushes it away. That was a nice reaction save.

Awkward wording, but a great stat:
Steven Gerrard has now scored the equal-most goals (6) in L'Pool vs Man Utd matches in the PL, alongside Robbie Fowler. #LFC

58'—YELLOW CARD!
Paul Scholes, who came on as a halftime substitute (haven't had time to pass that along), receives a yellow card for a sliding tackle on Sterling.
57'—PENALTY APPEALS
Liverpool have two penalty appeals within moments of each as first Suarez then Sterling tumble in the box.
Suarez fell rather theatrically, but there might have been contact. Tough to see.
54'—LIV 1, MU 1
Raheem Sterling times his run perfectly behind the United defense, and a long pass over the top finds him all alone in the box.
Sterling takes too long, and United's defense catches up quickly. The ball is worked around to Gerrard, whose shot from long distance is held easily.

MORE ON THE GOAL
Kagawa chests the ball down for Rafael in the box. Rafael takes a touch and bends a beauty with his left foot.
The ball dinks off the post and comes to rest in the net. Great goal.
51'—UNITED GOAL!
Rafael curls the ball into the net for United. It's 1-1!
