We're a day away from one of the biggest games for Notre Dame in a long time. They just beat their rival Michigan State soundly, and now will try to do the same to maybe their most-hated rival, Michigan.
Through the years, Notre Dame has had many rivalries and continuous rivalries.
This slideshow is just for matchups I think Notre Dame should explore or, in my opinion, would be great matchups for college football fans.
I mean, Notre Dame could call one of these teams at any second and try to make a game between the two representative universities. But Notre Dame most likely won't be playing these teams anytime soon at all.
Thanks for the read. Go Irish!
Now, wouldn't this be a challenge for the Irish?
Either at Notre Dame Stadium or, in my opinion, the toughest place to play in the entire country, "Death Valley." (Trust me; I've been to a game there)
LSU will always be one tough game. We would finally get to see Notre Dame vs. the SEC.
Two historic programs and two huge fanbases would make this game a must-watch for any college football fan.
As an Irish fan growing up, I lived with a Cornhusker fan (my Dad) my whole life. So if Notre Dame isn't playing, I pull for Nebraska. But I've always wanted to see this game more than anything in the world.
Two of the most historic college football teams in the game going against each other. Honestly, you couldn't go wrong with either venue. I think the Irish need to give Nebraska a call.
Okay, maybe these are all the teams I would want Notre Dame to play, but I've lived in Boise my whole life, and honestly I would love nothing more than to see the Irish kick the crap out of the Broncos.
Most BSU fans piss me off. They honestly think they have the best tailgates in the nation, and get this, Irish fans, some of them even think they could beat Alabama, LSU and Florida all in three weeks. I'm not joking!
But when BSU loses just one game, everyone disappears. They're one of the biggest bandwagon teams in college football, hands down.
This would bring TV ratings, maybe. But I just want BSU to get owned.
I'll be starting there in the fall, but I'll never wear anything Boise.
I went to the LSU vs. Alabama game last year and was just blown away by the talent level of these athletes in the SEC.
For Notre Dame to find a rival in the SEC, I think, would be huge for recruiting in the Deep South, which some say holds the best talent in the nation and the biggest hotbed of recruiting in the nation.
Who would not love this matchup though? It'd be great for the fans and great for college football alone.
Oregon boasts some of the new, flashy jerseys in college football, whereas Notre Dame stands with tradition and boasts one of the greatest classic jerseys—not just in college football, but in all of sports.
Oregon's high octane offense vs. a ferocious Notre Dame defensive line.
What a matchup!
This is another dream matchup I could see becoming a huge rivalry game for both schools.
Two great venues. Two historic teams. It'd be one hell of a game.
Could the Irish stop an Urban Meyer-led team?
This game will be played in a few years.
But i couldn't resist. Think about it.
Notre Dame vs. Texas: the battle of the TV networks, maybe! Just kidding.
For fans, I don't know if this could turn into a rivalry, but it would be a very exciting game indeed.
Opinions? Who would you want the Fighting Irish to play? Who are your dream opponents?
Thanks for the read, and go Irish!
