Bleacher Report was on hand for the unveiling of the brand new Barclays Center in Brooklyn, and took the VIP tour that no one else got to see.
One week before Jay-Z officially kicks things off with a concert at the Barclays, we were treated to a guided tour of the Nets' new home that will not only bring pro sports back to the Brooklyn area, but some world-class entertainment as well.
The 675,000-square-foot arena was designed by award-winning architectural firms SHoP Architects and AECOM in collaboration with The Hunt Construction Group. The facility boasts an 18,200-person capacity for basketball, 19,000 for concerts and is state-of-the-art across the board. It also features a 360-degree LED marquee, as well as a 9,000-square-foot glass-enclosed atrium that serves as the main entry space of the Barclays Center.
The facility also contains 101 luxury suites with unparalleled sight lines and more space than your everyday arena.
And, if you ever get tired of watching the game, you can retreat to one of the four bars and lounges inside the arena or sample some of the Brooklyn-inspired cuisine available at the club level.
It's been a long time since a professional sports franchise was in Brooklyn, but something tells us that Deron Williams and the Nets are in good hands at the Barclays Center.
