Pat White Is Exactly What the Detroit Lions Need

Detroit's answer to the QB position—free agents or draft pick?

Daunte Culpepper, Drew Henson, Drew Stanton: All three are current quarterbacks for the Lions.

Charlie Batch, Jeff Garcia, Byron Leftwich: all top quarterback free agents.

Matt Stafford, Mark Sanchez, Graham Harrell, Pat White: top QB draft picks.

My not expert opinion is that if I'm the Lions, I take a lineman with the first pick, and then with my 20th pick I take a defensive player with big talent.

Then when the second round comes around, I take Pat White. Yes, White. He has the ability to be a great player in the NFL. I only take White after he agrees to play at QB, WR, KR, and PR, which helps lighten the load.

They then sign either Batch or Leftwich unless something better comes around or take Harrell, who would be ready to be a NFL starter, and the Lions use a two-quarterback system, which could have two QBs line up under center and confuse NFL defenses around the league.

The Lions need to be smart and spend their draft picks wisely. You may not agree with White being a good player in the NFL, but just wait till you see what he can bring. He can run the option almost as good as anyone can, which confuses everyone.

0-16 needs to be a wake-up call to Detroit, and they need big change—I mean Big changes.

Again, RB and defense is a need for sure for the Lions, but they must get a QB that can perform in the NFL.
