It's a debate that picked up steam after Eli Manning surpassed Peyton Manning in Super Bowl ring count in February. Now, with Peyton's woeful second game against the Atlanta Falcons on national television, it might be time to have a serious discussion over this.
Which Manning is the better NFL quarterback?
Few can debate Peyton's accolades: 11 Pro Bowls, four Most Valuable Player awards and his membership in the 2000s All-Decade team. The NFL's elder Manning isn't afraid to change plays at the line or get on a teammate if it helps his team win.
Eli has always deferred to his older brother, but lately the Ole Miss product has shown an elder's poise, without some of the Mark Sanchez-esque ancillary distractions. Of all the high-profile athletes that play in (or near) the Big Apple, Eli seems almost repellent to tabloid fodder.
Both Mannings are playing on teams with 1-1 records. Both threw three interceptions in their respective Week 2 outings. But what seemed like a laughable debate even several months ago deserves serious consideration.
Join me and NFL National Lead Writer Michael Schottey as we take opposite sides of the Manning family dinner table and discuss which of Archie's boys is our favorite. Check out our video above and tell us which Manning you like best in the comments below. Thanks for watching.
