NFL, AFC East, New England Patriots

Having looked over the New England Patriots' schedule for the upcoming '08 season, I'd have to say I'm quite happy with the findings.

Home Games: Buffalo, Miami, NY Jets, Denver, Kansas City, Arizona, St. Louis, Pittsburgh

Away Games: Buffalo, Miami, NY Jets, Oakland, San Deigo, San Fransisco, Seattle, Indianapolis

Yes, I'm quite happy—except for one thing. We don't play those stinkin' New York Giants.

I wanted revenge on Eli Manning, but I guess I'll have to settle for Peyton Manning.

Oh wait a second, we do get to embarrass Eric Mangini and the NY Jets twice.

Oh wait, beating the hell out of the Jets will get you nothing but a year long distraction. Anyway, it's worth it.

New England should be a lock for at least 14 wins this year, with the only trouble I see coming from the San Diego Chargers or the Indianapolis Colts.

The AFC East is ours once again.  Although the competition is heating up, I'd have to say.

The Miami Dolphins should get back to playing decent football in about five to six years. The NY Jets can go to hell, as long as Mangini is head coach there. And the Buffalo Bills can move to Toronto for all I care.

New England Patriots over the Dallas Cowboys Super Bowl 43, final score 42-14.

  1. 18-1 18-1 18-1 18-1

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

    WASTED SEASON

    CHOKERS

    CHEATERS

    1. Patriots dont do anything no other team does. Because the Patriots have the greatest team they picked them to set an example. Wouldent doubt it if the Pats were also in on it. Giants got lucky- admit it! Patriots have the greatest record EVER! Who cares if they dident win Super Bowl. They have how many rings? Thats what I thought. And still counting!Wait until Brady and Moss tear shit up! The Pats win Back to back, lets see how far the stinkin Giants last this year. I bet they choke,to much pressure. Speaking of pressure, hand it to the Patriots for all the pressure all season and still kickin everyone. The Patriots championship game was the Super Bowl to me. I forgot the giants won until i read this ha ha! Its ok buddy have some humble pie! GO PATRIOTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. your thoughts are comical. i wish we got to play you next season, and we would punch in the mouth just like we did in the (greastest) super bowl (of all time). Blue Forever!

    1. I have to admit you played us good TWICE but I wouldn't say you punched us in the mouth or that in the words of Strahan you stomped us out after all it was just by THREE points. have fun next year being second or third behind the Cowboys or Eagles

    2. I predict nobody will remember how many games the Patriots won, just like this year. They just remember the Super Bowl Champions not the Super Chokers.

Anyone outside of NY know how many regular season games the Giants won? Nope. All they know is the the New YorK Giants are your World Champions!!!!

    3. you are all freaken nuts we beat the patriots even though they were cheatin. take that you stupid new england fans. youve gotta be freaken kidden me we beat dallas when it really mattered

    4. please giants got so lucky its not even funny! Put it like this giants are like the bucs...they won(not to mention got lucky against the raiders) and never won again...thats the giants! Put money up if u think giants is going to win the super bowl next season shit the next 5 seasons????? anyway thats why the "giants" ain't playing the patriots this upcoming season...why? they scared thats why.

  3. 18-1 a wasted season huh? and how did your team do? The Patriots are a lock for atleast 12 wins next season and depending on how their defense is they will most likely be 13-3 or 14-2 and along with the Colts should be the two superbowl favorites.

  4. 18-1 a wasted season huh? and how did your team do? The Patriots are a lock for atleast 12 wins next season and depending on how their defense is they will most likely be 13-3 or 14-2 and along with the Colts should be the two superbowl favorites.

    1. Nobody is a lock to win twelve games next season, nobody. There are injuries, bad stretches, Tom Brady is going to lose his ego, and ya'll will be lucky to win 9 games next year, after you give back the three Lombardi trophy's for cheating, and Bill Belichik is banned from the NFL, you might win 6. All that aside you WILL NOT win in OAKLAND! Tom Brady will be afraid to step on the field.

  5. People who think that the only thing that will be remembered from the Pats this season is that they "choked" obviously should take a look at the rewritten record book. By the way the Giants just barely made it in to the playoffs and just barely beat the Pats who basicly shot themselves in the foot 17-14 WOW Giant Beating

    1. Well if you are a real football fan you would really hate the Patriots. Write after everybody reads this name 5 things the Patriots accomplished in the 08 season without the cameras. Take that back ever since Belichick became coach. Anyways if the Patriots did win the Super Bowl by 3 points would you say they barely beat the Giants. Probably Not. I am getting really tired of hearing the Patriots are going to the Super Bowl every year until Brady and Moss retires. Think about other teams and the free agents they have picked up. Oh Boy, those Browns are going to be storming in. Even if they do go to the Super Bowl they will repeat and choke and Brady's best friend is going to be the ground since he will see it all the time. Get over instead of calling it the Super Bowl maybe we can call it the Manning Bowl since we have had it back to back. Well I guess the Dream Killers will see you Pats next year on the field. Ha Ha Dream Killers.

    2. Dream, how about...

Ellis Hobbs ran a kick off return in the seasoning opener against the Jets at the begining of the second half back for a record setting touchdown of 108 yards-longest ever on a kick off return.

Brady threw to 21 different Pats players for scoring (pass/handed off), which tied the existing record.

The Pats scored more points than any other team in the history of the NFL.

The Pats set TV audience records higher than any other TV event in history.

Brady threw more TD completions than any one in the history of the NFL.

Gotskowski set the record last year for most PATs in a single season.

Randy Moss broke the record for most TD catches in a single season.

The Pats were the first team to go 16-0 in a regular season.

Laurence Maroney had the highest kick off return average in the NFL.

  6. You douchebags are all saying "We did this" and "We did that." You didn't do anything. The players did. And Chuck Norris, learn how to spell -- it should be "you're not getting past Peyton," not "your getting past Peyton."

And the Giants will be lucky to make the playoffs next season.

  7. Defense, defense, defense. No success without balance. Much work ahead. Trust in Bill.
By the way.... there are 32 teams in this league. Not just the Pats. Only my opinion but I think if you love Pro football you should give a little love to all the pieces.... not just your favorite.

    JP in RI

  8. leaving too much time in the fourth quarter for the giants to score, Asante Samuel missing the pick, going for it on fourth down when they should have kicked the field goal, having what seemed the whole team all over Eli only to have Eli escape and throw to a player who people surely have already forgotten just a few crucial mess ups also the I don't think the pats are done yet with regards to the draft and free agents i agree some holes but then again they are the proven best at plugging those holes

  9. Giants fans: your team outplayed us fair and square i admit it... but the Giants played us damn good in week 16 so it wasn't exactly a choke. Chuck Norris... boo hoo we've only won 3 SBs in 7 years... how many has your team won again? i thought so. Pats Fans(not all of you on either side) the giants did not get lucky, the combo of their superior D-line and Belichick's Hubris did us in. Also Asante's butterfingers, no one can deny that would have been a game ender. besides in this day and age in the NFL with the astounding log jam of teams who finished between 7-9 and 9-7 18-1 is pretty damn impressive as was the Giants' run

    1. I think Max meant how many superbowls have the Giants won in the past 7 years

  10. well said max

  11. The best part about this article is going to be looking back on all these ridiculous comments when the Giants go 7-9 next year.

    1. wow thats big words commin the fan of a bunch of cheaters. the only reason the patriots have been so good for so long is because they cheat wake up man what are you retardid?

    2. I changed my mind.

The best part of this article is the simply stunning command of the English language by this guy.

Giants 7-9 comes a close second.

  12. I'd have to say that the Pats have almost as good a chance at going 16-0 in '08-'09 as they did this past season. I'd guess that they'll go 15-1 if I had to.

As for all the Giants fans, your team played great, they won it and earned it.

As for all the folks that like to throw out insults and laugh at the record of 18-1.....Hmmmmm......nevermind. I won't stoop to your level.

@ JP in RI-good point about sharing the love. Unfortunately, 99% of my love goes to the Pats....the other 31 teams can fight over the remaining 1%!!!!! Kidding! Still, a good point you made there!

  13. The Patriots play losing teams all year, ooops except the Colts. The league basically is making it very easy for them to return to the Super Bowl.

    1. dude, they have pre-determined methods for how the scheduling works out. It's already laid out for the next several years. Theyre not trying to let NE back in the Super Bowl, but they'll be there anyway because theyre the team of the decade, so just enjoy the last greatest dynasty in the NFL cause this league will fall behind Major League Baseball, once again, in 2012. SB 43: Pats 38, Cowboys 24. GO PATS!

  14. Giants will win the NFC east and get into the Superbowl where they will play San Diego, not New England....sorry Moss

    1. Oooh, San Diego... talk about chokers. And why all the hostility, guys? Upset because Tom Brady's girlfriend is hotter than yours? I ask this because it sounds to me as if there is something else going on here besides a rational discussion of football.

  15. the giants are nothing but lucky .....in the game it looked like the patriots didnt went to play ............... if you guys think that they are not lucky just look at the pass over the head to that unknown receiver .....we can say it was meant to be but the giants are not even making the playoffs next year (08 season)

    1. ChuckNorris-you need to just go away. There's more holes in your statement than I care to count. I could spend an hour typing and explaining to you how you're wrong about what you said in more ways than one, but something tells me that you'll just come back and swear and curse rather than actually have a decent discussion.

With the lack of quality and information in your comments, and your intentional flaming and vulgar language, I'd love to see Admin ban you.

  16. What the fuck ever. If y'all are sooo damn good, win back to back like we did. We'll see you next year in Tampa (if y'all can even make it). We'll be waiting. Even if it is y'all against San Diego, LT's gonna rush for about 300 yards, and Philip Rivers is gonna start trash talkin your fans like he did in Indi.

    1. Apparently Zach, we ARE that good-back to back Super Bowl victories in 2003 and 2004. Thanks for pointing that out.

  17. < < < ChuckNorris Wrote: last time I checked the Giants won 3 rings as well. > > >

Last time I checked two of those rings came with Bill Belichick as the Giants' defensive coordinator.

    1. LOLOLOL!!!!! If I laugh any harder I'm going to pee in my pants! That was simply "perfect" Scott!

  18. I'm sorry ChuckNorris, but I refuse to deal with you. Again, your language and demeanor is both insulting and purely argumentative. Perhaps I lost my temper when I said earlier that "...you need to just go away." For that, I apologize.

Sadly enough, due to your language and demeanor, I do not enjoy reading your posts in any way, shape or form. What's worse is when people reply to you and you reply back with swears and insults. You said to Max, the writer of this article; "Max I don't know if you're 100% retarded or maybe just 50% but last time I checked the Giants won 3 rings as well. Nice attempt to make a point, maybe next time you'll make some sense." Plain and simple, that's just wrong, and uncalled for.

I will not reply to your questions, comments or any of your posts. This will be the last time that I write a response to you.

    1. I stand corrected-Max did not write this article, Ivahn lachowsky did. My apologies for the mix up!

  19. Ah, Chuckie, there's that silly double standard, rearing its ugly head once again. Your comment re: the impossibility of lucking one's way "into winning the superbowl asshole" is beyond absurd. I'm thinking back to SB XXXVI, when the Patriots shocked the football world by upsetting the Rams (you know, those guys who already had ordered their rings-- talk about arrogant), and I recall that the general consensus outside New England was that the Pats had done exactly what you are now claiming to be impossible. I don't know, but I would guess that you were on that bandwagon.

No, the Pats didn't make the playoffs the following year, but we all know what happened in XXXVIII and XXXIX. All three of those SBs were remarkably exciting games, and I don't believe luck plays much of a role in winning three SBs in four years. When the giants have accomplished what the Patriots did over that span, I might take them seriously. Until then, there is really nothing you can say that has any meaning whatsoever.

    1. Well put!

  20. describe the stomping the giants put on the pats and the 18-1 "failure" how would you describe a 16-0 regular season and a superbowl trip as a failure i hope you were rooting for the GMEN when eli was stuggling just not all of those coughlin and eli haters for the past 3-4 years

  21. i could've told you five years ago the patriots wouldn't play the giants in 2008...

  22. It pains me, but you're probably not that far off in your predictions for next year. The way I look at it Indianapolis and New England are the favorites to go to the Super Bowl (yet again) and you have a bunch of teams that are on the cusp of getting to the big game...the AFC will be strong again...and out of the NFC there's not really anyone that scares me besides Dallas...I have to say I'd feel conflicted between Tony Homo and the Pretty Boy...

  23. chuck norris

are you serious about giants could of score 2 more times??? If thats the case Patriots could of score 3 more times not including the 4th and 13 that the patriots went for it!!! come on... come with some facts not illusions bro!!!! Lets face it they already got the prediction for 08-09 superbowl and guess what its not the giants but patriots and cowboys!!!! But I must say that thats the only thing NY got now is the giants winning the superbowl cause sports in NY(basketball, baseball, college football, NFL) NY is done!!!!

  24. chucknorris

first of all you said the pats advance the ball only 2 times past the giants 40 yrd line?? damn u stupid I can tell you didn't watch the game. Welker alone pass the giants 40 yrd line 3 times himself dumbass!!! and create a real name its "allnurmouth" I just didn't sign in. listen be thankful that ur team "giants" got lucky and got a ring cause in my previous statement giants are like the bucs...they won and they won't win again oh and to remind you of something when the pats coach went for 4 and 13 they were in the 28 yrd line(the giants 28 yrd line) which makes it the 3rd in giants territory during the game...nice try dude but do your homework before you talk to me about the pats!!!!!

  25. chucknorris

well as you know the 4th and 13 didn't go well lol but hey the sun shine on a dogs ass once in a blue moon and history won't replay itself this season so as TO say "get your popcorn ready" cause there is no records to be broken and this is the pats year and please "50 cent" I don't associate myself with "snitches" maybe thats your boy but not mine plus I don't listen to 50's music they garbage!! anyway I see the giants is ur team so I'm guessing u from NY...sucks to be you!!!!

  26. to the pats haters

See what I don't understand is why people are hating the Pats????? They broke records, they are less flashy, they play as a team, they don't be making off the field mistakes(outside of Moss and still he did a good job of maintaining respect) and most of all they had a 16-0 season which hasn't been done. The Gmen got lucky hell my wife is a giants fan and she can tell anyone that the Gmen got lucky and notice that the Pats wasn't playing at full potential(note randy moss was thrown the ball 3 times in the first half) so come one if a giants fan can see that then why keep going???? Let's see next season but lets say this.....

Who has a better chance of going to the superbowl....
    Patriots or Giants

    1. I'd say the Pats have the better chance of making it to the SB.

Oh, and the charges against Moss were dropped-so he's back to having a clean slate.

      Good points though ;)

  27. Steve

Thanks!!! see people are haters cause their city ain't hot or great like Mass. (pats,Red sox) but I understand when they see greatness people tend to hate on it just like the bulls in the 90's steelers in the 70's ........ the list goes on face it with the offense the Pats has there will never have one again unless a team get superstars on one team and still the Pats did it with less talent(welker, stallworth, gaffney, brown,) outside of brady and moss(offense only) who else is a superstar????? hell not even the colts and their high power offense can get close!!! But we will see next season oh by the way I wouldn't doubt it if the pats goes 16-0 again(they don't have records to break and the running game is getting better) but atleast "IF" they lose it might be 1 -2 games at most!!!

    1. Not only do the Pats not have to worry about breaking records, about going undefeated....you're going to have a bunch of pissed off football players looking for redemption from last years Super Bowl loss. What's that old saying..."Hell hath no fury like a Pats player scorn."!

      ***GO PATS!!!***

  28. Steve

yeah but theres only one problem!!!!! the giants got scared and are not playing the pats this season but the pats will win it this year and ur right!! pissed off pats it is.

  29. 19-0 next year...........the pats got too concerned with winnin they didnt do wat they do wat they did all year which is play as a damn team and actually "stomp out" opponents. but brady....... hes been actin like a girly boy with his girlfriend and doesnt even act like he cares he let down all his fans. BUT he did do that last year and just got better....so wats better than 18-1??? 19-0. but good job giants, you didnt getlucky at all, you made shit out of the AFC's best offensive line. but the teams gonna be shit next year JUST like thoes buccaneers. but COME ON did you see thier opponents for next year...def either 15-1 or 16-0 and look at. you cant tell me you dont think tht

    DAMN YOU DAVID TYREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  30. I hope that the buffalo bills surprise everyone this year, so everybody who puts them down can eat their words.

    1. The Bills have the 27th toughest schedule and their play the past two seasons hasn't been bad 7-9 so I wouldn't be surprised if they surprise they seem to be on the cusp.

  31. The Bills have 27th toughest schedule and their play the past two seasons hasn't been bad 7-9 so I wouldn't be surprised if they surprise they seem to be on the cusp.

  32. OK...I LIKE YOUR WRITING...UR A NICE GUY...I LIKE YOU...BUT I HATE THE PATRITOS IM SORRY....I AM SO UNBEALIVABLE HAPPY THT THE GIANTS WON...and yes they did not blow them out....but considering the matchups....Brady beat Eli a game by 100 yards...Brady had broken the record..Patriots had the best Recivers...NY with not the best secondary...Patriots secondary being pretty good...their d-line being good...the patriots all around were just fantastic...the giants weren't thr best team ever especially w/ out jeremey shockey.....the giants didn't blow them out but the patritos should have blown them out..and..they are kinda pusses for not going to the pro bowl because they lost the superbowl...but i will give it to the patritos...they did go 18-0 something no team in the NFL EVER has done (the dolphins went 16-0 including playoffs)....until the last and most important game....GOSH I JUST COULDN'T STAND BEING A PATS FAN....well the 18-0 would be great...but losing in the last and most important game obviously being the favorites...UGH...im srry to all those patriots fans...but GO GIANTS

    1. You know Drake I would have rather had the Superbowl ring than the perfect season I still get sick to my stomach when I think about the superbowl loss and I believe that Moss and Brady were both hurt in the superbowl and needed to rest remember other Patriot players played in the probowl and besides they both got enough attention throughout the year.
Anyway thanks for the feedback and keep up the excellent writing.GO PATS GO!!!!!!!!!
