So, Anger Management is getting a WWE Tag Team Title shot at Night of Champions.

That is what they’re calling Kane and Daniel Bryan, right?  Anyone?  Well, they should.

To say that it’s an odd pairing is to say that Hulk Hogan enjoys wearing do-rags.  It’s kind of a huge understatement, but the truth is we all pretty much expected this team to be formed, didn’t we?

It all began a few weeks ago, when both men were forced, thanks to Raw General Manager AJ, to attend anger management classes.  In an effort to work on their individual issues, they went through one lecture after another, and even participated in a “trust” exercise.

And, all of that is just another way of saying that it was some seriously funny stuff.  I mean, who doesn’t like Harold?

When it became apparent that WWE was taking more of a lighthearted approach to this rivalry, fans began to see the possibilities that existed in the two teaming together.

And, that is just another way of saying that WWE didn’t have any better ideas.

The tag team angle is nothing new to the company, they tend to do it quite often, especially when a long feud has run its course.  For Kane and Daniel Bryan, this seems to be the case, as we have seen them fight it out for a while now with no apparent end in sight.

So, WWE tag team 101 says when you run out of stuff to do, just tag ‘em.

But this time, it’s different.  This time, the two workers in question are each very entertaining in their own right.  And, their rivalry has not been about power, championships, or bragging rights.  Theirs is a rivalry that basically boils down to neither man being able to keep his temper in check.

Kane, who has a long history of obliterating everyone and everything in his path, has never been known for his patience.  For the Big Red Monster, aggression is not to be handled, it’s to be forced upon his opponents.  The more victims he has, the happier he is.

Daniel Bryan has been portrayed as the angry little guy who just cannot keep himself in check.  He has become obsessed with the WWE crowd, and their insistence on repeating his catchphrases every time he hits the ramp.  Bryan’s rage has reached an all-time high, and it has completely thrown him off balance.

Putting these two together is like adding gasoline to fire, and so far, it has been successful.  Each new spot provides more laughs, more fun, than the one before.

Whoever thought that the sight of two grown men “hugging it out” in the ring could be that entertaining? But make no mistake about it, this is not just a comedy act we’re talking about here.

Kane has done it all in WWE.  He has faced virtually every big name to work in the company, main evented all over the world, and through it all, he has maintained the same twisted character.  He knows who he is, and he knows how to get over.  For me, he is a legend in WWE and one of the best big men that the industry has ever seen.

Bryan is one of the best talents in the business today, and is one of the top workers in WWE.  He is a man who came up the right way, earning his stripes through hard work and dedication to his craft.  He has finally found his niche in WWE, and often has the best match of the night.

So, while their differences make us laugh, their careers as workers are nothing to be laughed at.  But what about their career as a tag team?

That’s right, the team that we thought would perhaps materialize is now a reality, and right away they are headed for a tag title match at Night of Champions.

This has undoubtedly made some fans crazy, as Bryan and Kane have stepped to the front of the line, right past more established tag teams.  The Prime Time Players seemingly stood ready and able to take the gold, and have done some good work in the ring thus far.

The Usos, another established tag team, could also be considered title contenders.  They too have been left in the lurch, and now one more opportunity passes them by due to Kane and Bryan being booked for Sunday night.

A travesty, right?  Well, not quite.

This is WWE we’re talking about here.  And, WWE has not been known for tag team wrestling since the days of Edge and Christian, the Hardy Boyz, and the Dudleys.  For Vince McMahon, the focus should be placed squarely on the individual Superstars, not the tag team division.

That’s the way it has been for years, and that’s the way it remains today.

So, when you have two guys who have caught fire like Daniel Bryan and Kane that fans really want to see, you put them together right away.  Strike while the iron is hot, give the crowd what they want, and make it count.  Like now. And, you put the gold on the line.

Do they deserve it?  No.  Does that matter?  No, not at all.

I believe that not only will the tag match between them and the champs R-Truth and Kofi Kingston be worth watching, I believe that it will be a highlight of the pay-per-view.

And don’t be surprised when the tag team that shouldn’t be getting the title shot goes over, and walks away with the straps.

“Here are your winners, and new WWE Tag Team Champions, Daniel Bryan and Kane, Anger Management!”

Yeah, they totally have to use that name.
