If Julio Jones' unique talent and ability was a secret to any NFL fan outside of Atlanta, that knowledge is quickly spreading.
NFL Network is reporting that Julio Jones ranks number one in Fantasy Football drafts for wide receivers. Not Calvin Johnson, not Larry Fitzgerald and not Roddy White.
This reputation is certain to grow as Atlanta takes on the Denver Broncos on Monday Night Football. Many fans will tune in to see quarterback Peyton Manning but will take away respect for one of the most talented wide receivers to come along in years.
I think the ultimate compliment comes from Arrowhead Pride, where an article titled "Julio Jones is Always Open" was published after the Falcons played last Sunday in Kansas City.
There is even a comparison made between Atlanta Falcons tight end Tony Gonzalez and Julio Jones. They should know because that is where Gonzalez started his Hall-of-Fame-caliber career.
It is not just size, Jones is reported to be 6'3", nor speed, reported at a 4.35 40-yard sprint. No, one of the things that makes number 11 so special is that he is able to learn form the best, Tony Gonzalez.
The only reason Julio Jones doesn't have a great game Monday Night in Atlanta against the Denver Broncos will be that Atlanta has a big lead that they are protecting with a heavy dose of running by Michael Turner.
My guess is that it will be more of a track meet and possessions will be critical. Jones will shine on the big stage because he is the best wide receiver for such a challenge.
